- Water hyacinth is a plant that is considered as apest due to its environmental impact. Thus, the aim of this research is to determine the effect of Medium-grained Water Hyacinth Plant (MGWHP) to the Comprehensive Strength (CS) of Concrete Hollow Block (CHB). The researchers utilized three (3) test-setups: Ordinary CHB, CHB with 1% MGWHP and CHB with 3% MGWHP. The method was utilized to identify which concertration of MGWHP in CHB has a better result in terms of its CS. As the results were gathered, the CS of the test-setups were evaluated and compared to each other to identify the significant difference among test-setups were evaluated and compared to each other to identify the sifnificant difference among the test-setup. The result showed that the mean comprehensive strength of Ordinary CHB was 53.8 Psi while the CHB with 3% MGWHP acquired its CS at 47 Psi. However, the CHB with 1% MGWHP significally affects the compressive strength of concrete hollow blocks as it acquired the CS of 176.8. The result also showed that the CHB with 1% MGWHP is the best concertration among the other test-setup. The result demostrated that the amount of MGWHP on the concrete affects its compressive strength. The higher the amount of the MGWHP the lower CS it obtained since it affects the compaction of the CHB.
