Temiticidal effect of Calamansi Oil against coptoterman vastator and Nesutitermes Luzonicus / Reinon Jayag, Theodor Clement Montoya, Youngjo D. Oh, Jaasiel L. Oriondo, Christopper Russel Torrente. - English : High School Library, - Infestation of termites is a common threat to wooden houses in the Philippines as they consume these structures overtime. A solution to this problem is the application of termicide, but this may be harmful to consumers as they might accidentaly inhale the chemicals brought about by the termicide itself. Considering this problem, the researchers decided to create and test the natural termicide made of calamansi peel extract. Researchers obtained calamansi peel oil and mixed the oil with paint thinner to test the effectiveness of four different concentrations of peel oil. Researchers tested the solutions on two termite species called Coptotermes vastator and Nasutitermes Luzonicus. The solutions were tested using two different methods, which were spray method and soil method. Result of the experiment showed that effectiveness of calamansi peel oil solution and conventional termicide are not significantly different. This proved that calamansi peel oil could be used for killing agent for termite. Keywords: termites, termicide, calamansi, calamansi peel: 2 1 pages 0 - Thesis .
