Many everyday objects such as grocery bags, sachets, and food packaging are some of the functions of plastic. However, plastic has also contributed to multiple flooding and its improper disposal has caused marine animals to mistakenly think of it as food. Scientists have discovered a way to lessen the chance to poisoning marine animals as well as the ecosystem and the land through creating biodegradable plasctic also known as bio plastic. This paper specifically aims to create a bioplastic made out of tapioca starch which will be reinforced with Saccharum spontaneum Linn., also localy known as talahib, to find out how effective talahib starch as a reinforcement in terms of tensile strength and biodegradability, and which treatment with varying percentage of talahib tarch is more effective in terms of tensil strength and biodegradability. Results show that when the amount of talahib starch increased, the tensile strength also increased, therefore failing to reject the null hypothesis of no significantdifferences. The amount of talahib starch also affected the biodegradability of the bioplastic. When the amount of talahib starch increased, its biodegradability also quickened, hence failing to reject the null hypothesis as well. Thus, Treatment C (22% of talahib starch) proved to be effective in terms of tensile strength and biodegradability.: b3 a1 pages d0 aThesis a0 atext aUnmediated 4avolume
