300 _aDATE: October 2014 TITLE: Development of Istant messaging mobile application for FEU - Cavite AUTHOR: Alegria, Bryan D. Oligario, John Allen B. Tisado, Johnly M. SCHOOL: Far Eastern University - Cavite DEGREE: Prof. Cesar Mark Anthony P. YEAR: 2014-2015 KEY CONCEPTS: Instant Messaging Application (IMP) Chapter 1 presents the background of the study, statement of the problem, purpose of the study, conceptual framework, project description, scope and limitation of the study, significance of the study, technical and operational definition of terms. The proponent conducted the study within the school of Far Eastern University-Cavite (FEU-Cavite). This thesis is sbout communicating using their Smartphones through texting or chatting using the Internet Protocol (IP) or wireless connection. This study is all about a mobile application that decent for communication. Mobile instant messaging might seem no different from others mobile messaging from a user`s point of view, but the mobile instant messagingcomposed some requirements that must fulfill before it can be successfully access. The system will give a lot of benefits to the students wherein students willgain more friends in school and easily communicate to the other co-students. Students could also make an announcement on the chat box. Mobile instant messaging also created to have a convenient and simple flatform allows the ease and swiftness of communication, everyday announcement and updates Chapter 2, proponents presented the review of the related literature, study and system. It will support the proponents` cognitive ideas to the proposed system. Related local literature tackles and discussed the basic information that is related to the system. Related local studies discussed the information for the support of creating the system . Related local system is tackles the system that is related to the proposed system. Chapter 3 presents the research methodology, system objectives, the system paradigm, logical and physical design, the system diagrams, feasibility of the study, technical feasibility, operational feasibility, schedule feasibility and economis feasibility. The logical and physical design contain the context flow diagram, data flow diagram, network architecture, entity relationship diagram, use case diagram, activity diagram. Tables were also icluded for the description of the data dictionary that will be using for the entities of the system. The proponents studied the process of the system and know how to improve. Chapter 4 discussed the presentation, analysis and interpretation of data. This also present the data gathered used in the study in relation with the problems statement presented in chapter 1. The proponent included the system evaluation to test the system reliability, maintability, functionality, security, and design. The proponent used to evaluate the sampling design. The respondents will be the records of evaluators. The system evaluation was conducted by 31 front-end users and 11 expert users, with the total of 40 respondents. Each respondent ranked and utilized by a question, and scale in a five points. For the front-end user, the system got a total overall mean of 5 for functionality which is extremely satisfied, 4.58 for reability which is extremely satisfied, 4.84 for security which is extremely satisfied. For the expert user on the other hand, the system got a total overall mean of 4.30 for functionality which is very satisfied, 4.09 for reability which is very satisfied, 4.28 for maintability which is very satisfied, 2.48 for security which is very satisfied. Chapter 5, the proponent presents the summary of findings, system research and evaluation, the developers were able to determine the areas that should be improved and to identify whether the system is effective and efficient. It also presents the conclusion gathered from the evaluation of front-end and expert users and the recommendation that the evaluators suggested for the improvement and enhancement of the system.:
